The topic for the third meeting of the Dexter Historical Society’s discussion series will be Winter Fun, Then and Now. Dexter had many winter activities, such as ice skating and indoor rollerskating, skiing and a toboggan slide, sledding on the unplowed roads and kicksledding. Current activities include snowmobiling and ice fishing. A hot summer night might be a good time to come and remember winter. An exhibit using some of our photos of winter activities will set the scene for the discussion. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 13 at 7:00PM at the Abbott Museum, 12 Church Street. All are welcome to come and share. For information call 924-5721. |
