DEXTER - The Dexter Historical Society held their annual meeting on September 18 at the Abbott Museum. An annual report was presented and new officers were elected for the upcoming year. Carl Steller is president, Peter Prescott, vice-president, Patti Grillo, secretary, David Pearson, treasurer and Richard Whitney, director. The museum will close its 35th anniversary season on September 30. Over 1300 visitors have toured the Grist Mill Museum and the Carr Schoolhouse. In honor of the efforts of Kyle Wilson and the Boy Scouts in building the foot bridge connecting the Society campus to the Wayside Park, an exhibit of photographs and items pertaining to the history of the Boy Scouts in Dexter has been placed in the display case at the Abbott Memorial Library.
