Dexter Historical Society presents new exhibit
Tuesday, November 09, 2004
The Dexter Historical Society presented a new exhibit at the open house of the Abbott Museum and Abbott Mill Gift Shop on Saturday, November 6. The room that houses the gift shop was donated by the Doyon family in memory of their mother, Cecilia Goulette Doyon, and is dedicated to Dexter’s Franco-American families. The new exhibit features photographs, artifacts and information about the history of Dexter’s French-Canadian settlers using items from the society’s collection and from the Doyon family.

The exhibit may be seen when the gift shop is open, Monday through Saturday from 10 to 4 and Sunday 1 to 4. Items on display will change from time to time. Anyone who has pertinent items that they would be willing to loan for future exhibits can contact the curator at 924-5721.

The next regular meeting of the society will be held on Wednesday, November 17 at 7:00 PM in the Crawford Conference Room at the Abbott Museum, 12 Church St., Dexter. All are welcome to attend.
