Fannie Brackett Damon (1875-1939) was a graduate of Castine Normal and a teacher before marrying L.R. Damon. She edited two literary magazines that achieved national notice: The Quiet Hours (1877-1889) and The Tally Ho (1896-1899). Poetry was her strongest means of self-expression, and it reveals her awareness of the beauties of both God and nature - New England style.
