Many consider rhe centerpieces of Dexter to be the Abbott Memorial Library, the Universalist Church, the town hall, and the Soldiers' Monument. The monument was constructed by the local shop of Morse & Bridges for $2,000 and dedicated on July 4, 1890. The soldier is 6-feet 6 inches tall, and the overall lenght is 24 feet.
