The old Town Farm as it looks today, west of Dexter on Route 23 (which was once a stagecoach line from Skowhegan). The site still sports a rugged, hewn, weatherworn old farmhouse that protects inhabitants from the elements and beckons the curious to come closer. The homestead has kept the main features of the original Town Farm and houses the current owners, Fred and Carol Sherburne. They may still hear the whispers of secrets long kept about what happened on top of that windswept knoll over on the Ripley Road just short of the turn of the century. The farm's secrets could have been whispered by many of the people spoken of in the adjacent photograph.
